SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 08 (KNO) : The KAS Officers Association has denounced the recent statement of Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) wherein DAK has questioned the authority of Civil Administration and denigrated the position of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) as a “lower rung revenue official.” “KAS Officers Association feels that before issuing such irresponsible statement, the office-bearers of DAK should have brushed up their knowledge about the nuances of Single Line Administration,” Waseem Raja, spokesman of the KAS Officers Association said in a statement issued here today. He said unfortunately DAK is trying to give an irrational twist to a minor incident that happened at Community Health Centre (CHC) Zainapora few days back, without going into the circumstances and public pressure which necessitated SDM Zainapora's visit to the health center that day. Raja said by enforcing shutdown of the government hospitals on such a trivial issue and putting lives of poor patients to risk, DAK is only depicting its insensitivity towards patients and lack of commitment towards the noble profession. “The KAS Association believes that both the medical fraternity as well as civil administration have been contributing immensely towards welfare of common masses under most challenging circumstances and both professions have to put sentiment of public service ahead of their personal egos and work in tandem for alleviating sufferings of the common people,” he said.(KNO)
